Research Interests:
Dr. De Campos’ research interests mainly focus on analytical and bioanalytical strategies applied to the detection, identification/characterization and quantification of illicit drugs and novel psychoactive substances (NPS):
• Novel sample preparation (extraction) and microsampling techniques applied to the toxicological analysis of illicit drugs and NPS in traditional or alternative biological matrices
• Development and validation of methods for toxicological analysis using GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and LC-QTOF-MS
• In vitro/in silico metabolism studies of NPS using high-resolution mass spectrometry
• Characterization of NPS in seized drugs and other substances in commercial products using GC-MS, FTIR, NMR and other techniques
