Photography, BFA
Photography requires technical and visual skills that provide the ability to communicate through images. A command of fundamental principles and practices prepares students to solve the challenges of expressing themselves through photography. In the BFA Photography program, students work under close observation with continual feedback, and are encouraged to explore, take risks, find their own path, and develop their skills. In both our facilities and faculty, we strive to support such positive growth and exploration.
BFA Photography Curriculum
The BFA in Photography requires students to complete the University Core Curriculum, Art Department Foundation Courses, Art Department Core, and 45 credit hours of Photography requirements. All BFA students must participate in the Art Department BFA Portfolio Review after completing the Foundation courses. Details are in the Department of Art Catalog accessed through the links below. Students should meet with an art advisor each semester before registration to ensure they are following the correct degree path.
