Networking
Networking isn鈥檛 merely the exchange of information with others. Networking is about establishing and nurturing long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with the people you meet. You don鈥檛 have to join several professional associations and attend every networking event that comes your way in order to be a successful networker. In fact, there are networking opportunities all around campus every day.
Organizations

Faculty Senate
Dedicated to examining issues of interest to the entire SHSU community, including the development of the university鈥檚 core curriculum, review of official university policies, and the administration of the annual Campus Perception Survey.
Staff Senate
Advocates for and represents the interests of staff to the administration of 麻豆精品. As a collective voice, Staff Senate provides staff with opportunities to succeed through networking and development.
Employee Resources Groups
Membership to Employee Resources Groups are open to all employees.
LGBTQI*
Provides a venue to explore personal and professional issues of LGBTQI* employees.
BERG
Serves as a resource for faculty and staff in a pursuit to achieve a visible and purposeful commitment to support community, recognition, and the values of Black Faculty and Staff.
Latinos Unidos ERG
Develop a network of support, recruitment, and retention of Hispanic/Latinx staff and faculty to increase representation, promote our community, and create an environment to foster the diverse talents of Hispanic/Latinx individuals.
WeLEAD
Examines issues relevant to women in Higher Education and host professional development and networking opportunities.
Disabled Campus Community
Promote an understanding and recognition of the issues of inaccessibility and ableism in higher education and to advocate for collective access as a shared responsibility of all campus stakeholders.
Creating Your Own ERG
麻豆精品 will allow for the formation of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) by current employees to network and promote awareness, and respect at the University. To request an ERG, send the completed ERG Request form to experience@shsu.edu.
SHSU ERGs must be voluntary and open to all current employees. SHSU ERGs must comply with all federal, State, and local anti-discrimination and labor laws, Texas State University System rules and regulations, and SHSU policies. 麻豆精品 A Member of The Texas State University System.
