We all start somewhere. Pre-Transfer Advisors are here to help take you from where you are to where you want to be using the 3 stages of Transfer: Preparation, Transition, and Progression.
Preparation
Pre-transfer Advising is dedicated to providing all of the information you will need to become prepared for the next step in your educational journey.
- Pre-Transfer Advising Appointment
Transferring to a new school can be confusing. Meet with an Academic Advisor virtually to look at the courses you have completed and determine the best path to reaching your academic goals.

Only direct equivalencies will be provided within the Pre-Transfer Advising Appointment. Please keep in mind that this advising appointment is used as an initial tool for providing you with an unofficial transfer evaluation. SHSU will provide you an official transfer credit evaluation after you are admitted to the University.

Transfer Credits Requirements 0-11 transfer credits Meet the and have a 2.5 GPA on transferable hours. 12-17 transfer credits Minimum 2.5 GPA. 18+ transfer credits Minimum 2.0 GPA. - Will My Credits Transfer?

- Scholarship Opportunities
Visit our financial aid website to learn how to complete the FAFSA, learn about scholarships like the Bearkat Transfer Scholarship and to complete the Scholarship4Kats Application. You must be accepted to SHSU in order to complete a ScholarX application. Most scholarships available to fall applicants have an application priority deadline of November 1 with recipient selections through February.

Transition takes you from one place to another. Whether you are coming from a community college or another 4 year institution, SHSU will help you make SHSU your Home!
- Transfer Orientation
Upon admission to SHSU, register to attend Transfer Orientation. No two schools are alike, at Transfer Orientation you will find tools from across the university to help acclimate you to the SHSU!
- Academic Advising
At the SAM Center, we value the whole student. Academic Advisors can assist you in making the best decisions choosing majors and defining your academic path while valuing your individual needs. We are here to help you with your goals and to promote your success. We can help you learn about campus processes, direct you to helpful resources, and work with you to build the best schedule and degree plan possible.

Undecided? Need help choosing a major? SHSU Career Services offers you a variety of complimentary services. Including career counseling and assessments. We can also help you select your major and assist with finding internships, part-time jobs and full time employment opportunities when you graduate. - Financial Aid and Scholarships Office
Financial aid consists of grants, scholarships, loans and work study. Most aid, except for scholarships, is based upon individual need and eligibility. It is intended to supplement, rather than replace, student and parental financial contributions toward the Cost of Attendance (COA). The COA includes typical expenses such as tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, transportation and miscellaneous expenses. Need to Register for classes? The Registras Office can help with that! Check out the Before you Register Checklist to make sure you have everything completed to sign up for the classes you discussed taking with your Academic Advisor.

- Academic Success Center
The mission of the Academic Success Center at 麻豆精品 (SHSU) is to assist and empower students to succeed academically, persist through graduation, prepare for graduate and professional endeavors, and develop an appreciation for lifelong learning.

The Department of Student Activities is committed to developing students outside of the classroom.
